Crystal Cleansing & Care
Crystals hold energy and cleansing them works to both remove the energy they've accumulated from being handled and used, and to remove outer dust and dirt. You should always clear a crystal when you first bring it home. How often you clear your crystals depends on how often you've been working with them. After a while, you'll start to know instinctively when to clear your crystals. You can cleanse/clear your crystals in several different ways!
*You can hold them under running water (check the guide below for crystals that don't like water)
*You can place your crystals on top of Selenite or Clear Quartz
*You can use the sound vibration of a singing bowl
*You can use the power of the Full Moon and leave your crystals to bathe overnight in the moonlight.
*You can smudge with Sage by holding the crystals over the smoke (shown in the picture)
*Place in the soil of the earth
Cleansing/Clearing and Charging your Crystals
Once you've cleansed/cleared your crystals, now its time to charge and activate them. This is an important step to using your crystals. Crystals need to be charged just like batteries because, like batteries, they work hard and run out of energy and are no longer effective. Charging/Activating crystals allows them to refresh and recharge. You can charge your crystals in multiple ways!
*You can put them in water, which both cleanses and energizes the crystals at the same time
*You can put them in your garden to bathe in either the sun or moonlight
*You can use sound vibration from a singing bowl
*You can place them in a copper pyramid
*You can put them on top of a piece of Quartz, Amethyst, or Selenite
*You can use the healing energy of Reiki
Once you've cleared and charged your crystal, you're ready to set your intention with it. Simply hold the crystal in your hands and think about what you desire, or wish to accomplish. The crystal will work with you, helping you to remove obstacles from your goal.
