Self-love Challenge- Day 9
It’s hard to believe we’re over halfway through this challenge. You guys are doing amazing and I’m very proud of you for sticking with it. This isn’t a commitment you’ve made to anyone but yourselves, and that’s the amazing part of this challenge. You took the first step. And tomorrow you’re going to start forgiving yourself.
Day 9’s challenge is to write down something you need to forgive yourself for.... and then forgive yourself. 💞 Truly, genuinely, lovingly forgive yourself.
Oh c’mon, you didn’t see this coming?! How are we supposed to love ourselves if we can’t forgive ourselves??? It’s a piece of the process! 🌟
Close your eyes. Right now. Wait no, you need to finish reading this. Close your eyes when your done reading this, and take a deep breath in. Hold it for a moment and exhale. Focus on every inhale and exhale. Feel your heart rate slow and your body loosen. Keep breathing until you feel totally relaxed.
Now that you’re centered and relaxed, think about something that you said, or did, or didn’t do that you’ve been beating yourself up for. Apologize to yourself for whatever that something is, AND for not forgiving yourself for it and carrying it around for so long. Then forgive yourself. Release that burden that you’ve been carrying because that moment is gone, it’s passed, and you need to move forward without it.
Repeat this mantra to yourself:
“I love you. I’m sorry. I forgive you.”
Guys this is hard. No doubt about it, but it’s necessary. We can’t love ourselves if we’re mad at ourselves. We can’t love ourselves if we feel like we can’t do anything right. We can’t love ourselves if we can’t forgive ourselves.
Forgive yourself for failing, for being afraid of failure, for feeling like you’re not living up to expectations, for putting too much on your plate, for not loving yourselves, for not feeling like you’re enough, for being too tired at the end of the day to do anything else, for giving your all to everyone and everything else but you.
Once you get through it, I promise you’ll start to feel better. You are strong. You are amazing. And you have come so far!!!!
Keep going!!!!!! 💫
