Today I’m grateful for the gift of breath.
Breathing is such a simple thing, and yet I feel like it’s so taken for granted. It’s the first and last thing we do in our lives; our first breath as we enter the world, and our last when we leave it. Steadying our breath helps us relax, and it’s used in so many techniques for relaxation and awareness, like mediation and hypnosis. All we need to do is focus on our breath.
Try it now. Close your eyes, and just focus on each inhale and each exhale. When your mind starts to wander, bring it back to your breathing. Try this for a few minutes.
