Today I’m grateful for the beach.
Sometimes it’s the only place I feel myself. My mind quiets, my feelings fade away, and I’m just enveloped by the grounding I feel there. The warmth of the sand beneath my feet, and the breezes that sweep across my face make me feel at home. I’m mesmerized by the waves and their soothing sound, and with each roll that comes to kiss the shore, I feel my breath match it. Like the ocean is inhaling and exhaling in perfect alignment. I’m transfixed by the seagulls bobbing along with the ups and downs of the waves, taking each one as it comes, unmoving and without fear. They are relying on their instincts. I should learn from their example. Walking the beach at sunset is an experience all in its own, and hard to tear myself away from. Being at the beach brings me peace and when I’m there, I’m living in those moments with nothing else on my mind or in my way.
I wish I were there now. Today is an off day, and I’m not myself.
What are you grateful for?!
