I am so very grateful for music.
If you can’t tell by the bottom of the gratitude posts; I love it and get lost in the way music feels. Music evokes emotions and memories, and can help us overcome some pretty tough obstacles. Music can make us feel empowered, help us find clarity, or assist us in processing emotions we’re holding on to. It can help us relax and unwind, push us to go further, and ignite memories of good times with good friends, or challenges we’ve faced and conquered and wounds now healed. Music is a friend that’s always there for us providing either a shoulder to cry on, or a smile to put on our face. There is a song that resonates with everyone depending on the situations you are facing or have faced.
To feel the music flow through us is an experience. Every beat and rhythm can touch our soul and stimulate our minds with understanding like nothing else can. Music stimulates the entire brain, and can chemically change your entire mood. Music itself is considered a language spoken by everyone because we all love and feel it in our own way.
I chose the song below simply for Adele’s chorus because that’s the way I feel about music: it’s in my roots and my veins.
Fun fact about me: I can’t listen to music when I’m sad. I feel it too much, and it can be too overwhelming. When I’m happy, it’s blasting! I know when I’m at my happiest when I’m singing right along.
Lesser known fact most don’t know: I LOVE to sing, I sing well, and will occasionally do it in public when I’ve worked up the nerve.
What is your favorite type of music? What are you grateful for?
