21 Days of Gratitude- Day 18

I’m grateful for personal growth.

I’ve talked about self-love, strength, time, forgiveness, and change. The by-product of all these things is personal growth. We grow and learn from each experience and become better versions of ourselves through this process. These experiences should be looked at as opportunities to correct the thoughts, actions, and behavior patterns that lead to negative outcomes in our lives. From this, we learn how to better handle ourselves, situations, and other people as a result.

There’s a trick though, and it’s called awareness! Awareness is recognizing that these thoughts, actions, and behavior patterns don’t serve your greater good in life. Once you’re aware, you have a choice....evolve or stay the same. I choose to evolve. It might take me a couple of tries to become aware of the problem, but it’s not me to sit back and not act on it. I want to grow. I want to become better.

This isn’t about being perfect.

This is about the pursuit of inner peace, happiness, and living our best life. We become whole in this process, and we’ve done that for ourselves...not anyone else, although all benefit from this.

Personal growth is never ending, and it can be a beautiful but painful process. It’s essential on the journey through life. There are a lot of complications and choices involved in it. You will be uncomfortable, you will hurt, you will be scared, you will face demons, and challenges, and changes. These things are parts of the journey too. You will face each one head on, and as you do, you will grow stronger, you will love yourself more, and you will become resilient because of it.

Don’t back down. Don’t give up. Embrace your evolution; each lesson, each moment, each beautiful change. You are becoming who you are meant to be, and you will learn so much about yourself through the process.

How have you grown? What are you grateful for?
